Tony Toscano is a nationally recognized movie critic and film historian who has been reviewing films for nearly 30 years. Tony grew up in California just outside Los Angeles.Always interested in broadcasting and television, its no surprise Tony's first job was a disc jockey at his hometown radio station. It's there he started to review films as a regular feature of his radio show.Toscano attended Film and Television classes at San Bernardino Valley College in San Bernardino, California were he worked at the college radio station and the on campus PBS TV station. In the 80s he moved from LA to Provo, Utah to co-host a morning radio show on Utah's KABE FM 107 where his film reviews were heard once a week and became a staple of the popular morning program. Toscano began taking live calls from listeners and discussing current movies. "Talking Pictures" was born as a weekly interview segment with celebrated movie makers. This weekly radio feature was a staple for Friday morning listeners on 3 Citadel radio stations in Salt Lake City. Toscano moved his "Talking Pictures" into a full "talk radio" format with a weekly 3-hour show featuring reviews and one on one interviews with film and television celebrities. In recent years Tony made the jump from radio and newspapers to television. Beginning as a film critic on CBS in Salt Lake City, then to KJZZ TV in Salt Lake where he hosted the popular "Movie Review Show" and then "Talking Pictures."Now taking his EMMY Award winning "Talking Pictures" to America, Toscano has been able to syndicate the program across the USA. His fellow broadcast critics regard Tony as "one of the country's best celebrity interviewers." And his in-depth conversations with such stars as Sean Connery, Harrison Ford, Julianne Moore, Robin Williams, Mel Gibson, Julia Roberts, Gwyneth Paltrow and Denzel Washington and other notable industry professionals show a different and more relaxed side of celebrities.Tony is also editor and co-creator of the Entertainment Journal - a monthly newspaper updating film fans on entertainment news and events. The publication reaches 35,000 people and continues to grow.Recently Tony has added mentoring to his list of credits. Working with students at the new East Hollywood High School in Salt Lake City, Tony is consulting with qualified students in the art of television production, script writing and commercial production. The school, one of just a handful, has a complete professional television production facility on campus. When not previewing, reviewing or interviewing Tony can be found somewhere in the mountains of Utah stream fishing.
