Born in London 1966 and grew up in Bedford. Andrew moved back to London aged 17 to take up an apprenticeship in Mechanical and Production Engineering with the Ministry of Defence. Completing his four years, he travelled the world for 18 months, came back and applied for drama school. Andrew attended The Guildhall School of Music and Drama and thereafter worked mostly in television. Disillusioned with the stereotyped roles he was afforded, he turned his sights to creating work, making his first short film 'Losing Heart' in 1997 as Producer Actor. This gave him the opportunity to make his first feature film, 'Offending Angels' in 1999/2000 inwhich he created two leads for non-white actors, making no mileage from skin colour; something he wasn't seeing much of in the industry. Thereafter, he successfully applied to the National Film & Television School in Beaconsfield as a Screenwriter, graduating in 2007. He's since made two feature length documentaries, 'Finding Fink at Fifty', about the hedge-fund supremo Stanley Fink and 'The Penthouse at St Pancras'. He also made feature drama 'Greys Inbetween', filmed partially at The National Gallery, in 2009. All of his films continue to explore the territory of identity and preconceptions to do with race and culture. Show less «
